BLUE RIDGE

Located just down the street from Mary Engelken Interiors’ own home base, Blue Ridge was a special project with extra heart. Designed for our next-door neighbors, this basement finish was all about maximizing space and creating moments for connection, play, and rest.

What began as a blank slate became a layered, multifunctional retreat with a golf simulator, cozy guest suite, media area, and a kid-friendly zone complete with custom desks and a built-in reading bench. Throughout the space, thoughtful details like a wood-paneled tray ceiling, client-inspired tile layouts, and rich grasscloth wallpaper bring warmth and personality. Blue accents tie it all together, creating a cohesive, livable lower level that feels anything but an afterthought.
